PM Modi Highlights States that have Not reduced VAT on Fuel!

Things have changed rapidly for the saffron party Bharatiya Janata Party over the years. When 2014 polls were held, BJP supporters and voters had high hopes that the party would bring acche din. As time passed by, BJP started to face a lot of criticisms on various issues.

Out of all the issues, the price hike of commodities, fuel, and gas had brought a lot of bad name to the party. Many people started to attack the party. The political opponents are openly attacking the saffron party on this.

Looks like Prime Minister Narendra Modi had decided to hit back at the criticism and put the focus on the non-BJP ruled states that have not reduced the VAT on petrol and diesel. Speaking to the Chief Ministers, PM Modi said the same.

Talking about the fuel prices hike, the Prime Minister said that the Union government had reduced the excise duty on the fuel, but a few states have not reduced the VAT and as a result, the prices of petrol and diesel are soaring regularly.

“Many states such as Maharashtra, West Bengal, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Jharkhand and Tamil Nadu for some reason or the other did not listen to the central government and the citizens of those states continued to be burdened, “the PM said.

It appears like PM Modi wanted to show the voters that the fuel price issue does not lie just with the Union Government and if the states don’t reduce the Value Added Tax, then it is of no use to reduce the excise duty.
