Ram Charan vs Jr NTR Fans Over Box Office
June 15, 2026

The box office rivalry between Ram Charan’s Peddi and Jr NTR’s Devara has now escalated into one of Tollywood’s most intense fan wars.
Released on June 4, 2026, Peddi has reportedly collected around Rs 193 crore net in India within nine days. The makers are confident that the rural sports drama is heading towards the Rs 350 crore mark worldwide.
However, Jr NTR fans have been quick to compare these numbers with Devara, which reportedly ended its theatrical run with worldwide collections of around Rs 428 crore.
Ram Charan fans argue that Peddi has shown stronger consistency in several centres across the Telugu states. According to them, the film has posted better multiplex numbers in cities like Hyderabad and Nizamabad while also maintaining steady collections over a longer period.
On the other hand, Jr NTR fans point out that Devara enjoyed a much bigger reach in markets such as Hindi-speaking regions, Karnataka and North America. The film reportedly earned nearly $3.79 million in North America on its opening day alone, whereas Peddi is said to have collected around $3.23 million there after nine days.
This overseas advantage has become a major talking point among Devara supporters.
Meanwhile, Peddi fans insist that sustained collections and strong local performance are equally important indicators of success. In contrast, Jr NTR fans maintain that worldwide reach and lifetime box-office numbers are the ultimate benchmarks.
As expected, the debate has gone beyond collections, with both fan groups accusing each other of inflated figures, corporate bookings and self-sponsored ticket purchases.
With Peddi still continuing its theatrical run, the final verdict is yet to emerge. But one thing is already evident — while Ram Charan and Jr NTR created history together with RRR, their fans are currently engaged in one of the fiercest box-office battles Tollywood has witnessed in recent years.
