Satyadev Hails Rao Bahadur as a Game-Changing Telugu Film

Ahead of the release of Rao Bahadur on July 3, Satyadev Kancharana engaged in an in-depth conversation with manatelugu Pro’s Ram Venkat Srikar, where he spoke about the film, his acting approach, and the impact he believes it can create in Telugu cinema.
Satyadev expressed strong confidence that Rao Bahadur attempts something fresh and meaningful. He revealed that the role pushed him into an unfamiliar emotional space, requiring a level of immersion beyond conventional method acting. The actor shared that there were moments when he felt completely absorbed into the character, followed by emotional exhaustion after stepping out of it.
He explained that the core theme of the film revolves around obsession and the extraordinary strength it can generate within a person. The story, according to him, explores how a relentless pursuit of truth transforms an individual, blending psychological drama with elements of magical realism.
Satyadev also had high praise for director Venkatesh Maha, calling him one of the most passionate filmmakers he has worked with. He noted that their discussions often focused on creating impactful cinema without falling into pretentiousness, and credited Maha’s dedication for shaping the film’s depth and vision.
He further stated that Rao Bahadur has the potential to become a reference point for future films, encouraging filmmakers to explore original and culturally rooted storytelling rather than relying solely on commercial formulas. He even suggested that the film could be remembered alongside landmark Indian cinema like Baahubali and RRR, not just for its scale but for its lasting influence.
Satyadev concluded by expressing confidence that the film will spark discussions after release due to its layered narrative and intense themes. From extensive makeup sessions to demanding schedules, he said the entire team worked with complete dedication, hoping Rao Bahadur leaves a strong impact on Telugu cinema.
