Ahead of the release of Purushaha on May 22, producer Battula Koteswara Rao shared an emotional account of his journey in introducing his son, Pavan Kalyan Battula, as a lead actor. The film is produced under the Kalyan Productions banner and presented by Battula Saraswathi, with Veeru Vulavala directing the project. The cast also includes Saptagiri, Kasireddy Raj Kumar, Rayancha Kokkura, Vishika, and Hasini Sudheer in key roles.

Koteswara Rao, who hails from Karampudi in Guntur district and has no prior film background, said his entry into the industry was made possible by the encouragement and support he received from several people in cinema. He described the experience as deeply fulfilling and memorable.

Sharing the story behind naming his son after actor Pawan Kalyan, the producer said he became an ardent admirer after watching Gokulamlo Seetha. He revealed that he had long decided to name his future son after the actor, a decision that felt even more special as his son was born around the time of Thammudu’s release. He also mentioned that while becoming a hero was once his personal dream, he chose to fulfill it through his son, who was naturally shy and introverted, using cinema as a means to build his confidence.

Koteswara Rao praised director Veeru Vulavala for crafting a story that immediately impressed him, particularly highlighting its romantic and entertaining elements. He described Purushaha as a wholesome family entertainer designed to engage audiences in theatres. He also appreciated the performances of the supporting cast, including Saptagiri, VTV Ganesh, and Vennela Kishore, along with music director Shravan for delivering impactful songs. He further noted that having legendary composer M. M. Keeravani lend his voice to a song in the film was a special highlight for the team.

The film is scheduled for a wide release across nearly 300 theatres, with premiere shows planned across the Telugu states on May 21. Koteswara Rao added that the filmmaking journey went smoothly, with overwhelming support from technicians and crew members alike.

He concluded on an emotional note, stating that he had promised to make three films for his son. If his son succeeds as a hero, they plan to continue in cinema; otherwise, they are prepared to return to their village and resume farming.
