The Superstars and celebrated actors across the country have come together for the 67th National Film awards as the best talent in 2019 across the crafts were honoured today. The function that was earlier scheduled to be held in 2020 was held on October 25th at the national capital Delhi. The award ceremony was a star-studded affair.
Veteran actor Thalaivar Rajinikanth was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke award for his contribution to cinema. The Vice President of India Venkaiah Naidu had presented the award to the charismatic actor. Rajinikanth’s family members were present there at the time of the award ceremony
Kollywood star actor Dhanush was honoured with the National Award as the best actor for Asuran film while Manoj Bajpayee won the national award for the 2018 film Bhonsle. Vijay Sethupathi won the Best Supporting Actor for Super Deluxe
Bollywood Queen Kangana Ranaut received the National Award in the Best Actress category for Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Panga. So far, Kangana has received four National Awards in her career. She had attended the ceremony in traditional attire.
Ahead of the ceremony, Kangana Ranaut took to Twitter to give a sneak peek into her traditional attire.â€Today I am receiving joint National Award for two of my performances.. Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi (2019)Panga(2020)I also co directed Manikarnika – The Queen of Jhansi Immense gratitude for the teams of these films …,” Kangana posted on Instagram ahead of the ceremony.
Malayalam period epic Marakkar: Lion of the Arabian Sea helmed by Priyadarshan that traces the war waged by Kunjali Marakkar IV against the Portuguese was honoured with the Best Film award. Hindi film Chhichhore bagged the Best Hindi Film Award at the ceremony.
Superstar Mahesh Babu starrer Maharshi had bagged two National Awards in Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment and the Choreography categories. The makers of the film have received the award. Raju Sundaram had won the Best Choreographer Award for 2019.
Natural Star Nani starrer was awarded the Best Telugu Film Award. Editor Navin Nooli was honoured with the Best Editor award for his work in Jersey. Needless to say, Jersey is the best work of Nani. He made the audience cry with his emotional performance.
