The much-awaited mythological epic Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, is reportedly gearing up for a revised theatrical release around October 30, just ahead of the Diwali festive season, according to early industry buzz.
The big-budget project has already emerged as one of the most anticipated Indian films in recent times, and the makers are now said to be reworking their release strategy to maximize box office potential during the holiday period. The idea behind the preponed release is to take advantage of the Diwali window, which traditionally drives massive theatre footfalls across the country.
Trade sources suggest that releasing the film slightly earlier could help it build strong word of mouth before entering the peak festive weekend. If the film opens to positive reviews, its momentum is expected to grow rapidly during the extended holiday stretch.
The second week of release is likely to coincide with major festive holidays, which could significantly boost collections across regions. Given the scale, visual grandeur, and star power attached to Ramayana, expectations are extremely high from all quarters.
However, trade analysts also point out that if the film receives mixed responses, sustaining such a massive project over multiple weeks could become challenging. The opening reception will therefore play a crucial role in determining its long-term box office performance.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the magnum opus is being produced by Namit Malhotra on a staggering ₹4000 crore budget across two parts. With its scale and ambition, Ramayana continues to remain one of the most closely watched cinematic projects in India.
