Vijay’s Birthday Marks New Political Chapter
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and popular actor Vijay celebrated his 52nd birthday on June 22, marking a significant milestone in his life. This year’s birthday holds special importance as it is his first after taking office as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The occasion saw an outpouring of wishes from celebrities, political leaders, and fans across social media platforms.
Among those who extended their greetings was actress Keerthy Suresh, who shared a heartfelt message along with a picture of herself with Vijay. Reflecting on his remarkable journey, she noted how Vijay’s birthdays were traditionally associated with exciting updates from his film career. However, Keerthy pointed out that this year feels completely different. Instead of celebrating the launch of a new cinematic character, Vijay is now embracing a much larger role as a leader responsible for the welfare of millions. Vijay entered politics with the launch of his party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), and soon emerged as a major political force in the state. Following an extensive statewide campaign and direct engagement with the public, he led his party into the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
TVK delivered a strong performance in the elections, securing enough seats with the support of its allies to form the government. Vijay himself contested from two constituencies and registered impressive victories in both. After assuming office as Chief Minister, he chose to retain the Perambur Assembly constituency.
With his successful transition from cinema to politics, Vijay is now being compared to iconic actor-politicians such as N.T. Rama Rao, M.G. Ramachandran, and J. Jayalalithaa, who left a lasting impact on both the entertainment industry and public life.
