Actor Ravi Mohan has finally broken his silence on the controversy surrounding his separation from estranged wife Aarti Ravi and his close association with singer Keneeshaa Francis.
The issue escalated after Ravi and Keneeshaa were seen together at several public events following his separation announcement. Social media was flooded with speculation, with many accusing Keneeshaa of being responsible for the breakdown of Ravi’s marriage.
Adding fuel to the controversy, Aarti Ravi claimed that she had not been informed beforehand about Ravi’s public announcement regarding their separation. In response, Ravi later alleged that he had suffered severe emotional distress throughout their marriage.
The situation intensified further when Keneeshaa announced her decision to leave Chennai, social media and even her professional commitments behind. In an emotional Instagram note, she stated that she had “walked into this story with love” and was now walking away “with silence.” She also expressed exhaustion over the constant judgment, online negativity and what she described as “manufactured narratives.”
Before sharing the farewell post, Keneeshaa had uploaded — and later deleted — two videos addressing the controversy. In those videos, she strongly denied accusations that she had caused Ravi Mohan’s marital issues.
“I first knew him professionally and later became his friend. Ravi Mohan is not a child. He knows whom to speak to and how to live his life,” she clarified.
Public backlash against the duo increased after they attended a wedding together. The criticism grew even stronger when Keneeshaa shared a video from her performance at the Meenkulathi Bagavathi Temple event, where Ravi was seen cheering for her and embracing her after the performance.
During a recent press conference in Chennai, Ravi Mohan made an emotional statement, revealing that he has decided to step away from acting until his divorce is legally finalised and the online abuse against him ends.
“Until my divorce comes through, I will not act. I am not able to. Whenever my divorce is finalised, my life will return to normal. Whenever this cyberbullying stops, I will come back,” he said.
Ravi admitted that the last two years had taken a heavy emotional toll on him and said he was mentally unable to continue working while his personal life remained under constant public scrutiny.
He also became emotional while speaking about Keneeshaa’s decision to leave Chennai, saying that relentless public hostility had effectively “driven her away.”
During the same interaction, Ravi made serious allegations against Aarti Ravi and her family. He claimed he had endured humiliation for years and revealed that he had married against his parents’ wishes.
“They are not letting me meet my sons. My children are being accompanied by bodyguards. I entered this marriage against my parents’ wishes, and now I am paying the price,” he alleged.
Ravi further claimed that he had once slit his wrists but still attended a film shoot the very next day, calling it proof of his dedication to his profession.
Describing his personal life as “hellish,” he alleged that certain PR groups were involved in cyberbullying him online. He also said he was unable to cope with being separated from his children.
The actor also referred to an “idly nadigai” during the interaction and alleged that the actress had “destroyed” his family. Though he did not mention anyone by name, social media users speculated that he was indirectly referring to Khushbu Sundar, who has publicly supported Aarti Ravi in the past.
Khushbu later appeared to react to the controversy on X, posting, “Some are just hell bent to prove their DNA. Thank you for proving me right.”
On the professional front, Ravi Mohan was recently seen in Parasakthi alongside Sivakarthikeyan, as well as the romantic entertainer Kadhalikka Neramillai.
