Actress Bhagyashri Borse has shared an emotional account of her childhood, revealing the financial hardships her family endured and how those experiences shaped her determination to succeed.

Speaking during an interview on Honest Townhall, the Lenin actress said her family went through years of financial instability after her father lost his job around the time she was born.

Bhagyashri recalled growing up in a lower-middle-class household where every expense had to be carefully planned. Despite the challenges, she said her parents never stopped working hard to provide a better future for their daughters.

“I have seen a very different side of life since the day I was born. My parents come from a lower-middle-class background. I never experienced the kind of financial stability we have today. But my parents never gave up and kept fighting for us,” she said.

The actress revealed that watching her parents maintain a notebook of household expenses helped her understand the value of money at a young age.

“I remember seeing entries like Rs 10 for green chillies and Rs 10 for spinach. They would constantly calculate how to manage the family’s expenses for the coming week. Seeing your parents struggle like that stays with you forever,” she recalled.

Bhagyashri also shared one of the most emotional moments from her childhood, when she witnessed her father requesting someone for a job.

“I heard my father say, ‘Please give me a job. I have two daughters.’ As a child, you never want to see your father in that situation. That moment changed me,” she said.

She explained that the incident became the driving force behind her ambitions.

“I promised myself that my father should never have to ask anyone for work again. Everything I want to achieve is for my parents. I want them to always live with dignity and pride,” she added.

Born in Aurangabad, Bhagyashri spent part of her childhood in Lagos, Nigeria, before returning to India. She later moved to Mumbai, where she pursued modeling while completing her Bachelor’s degree in Management Studies.

After appearing in supporting roles in Yaariyan 2 and Chandu Champion, she made her debut as a lead actress opposite Ravi Teja in Mr. Bachchan. She later featured in films including Kingdom, Kaantha, and Andhra King Taluka.

Bhagyashri was recently seen opposite Akhil Akkineni in Lenin, released on July 10. She will next star alongside Sivakarthikeyan in the upcoming Tamil action film Seyon.
