Saudi Arabia has introduced a new Package Visa on a pilot basis, aiming to make travel to the Kingdom more convenient by allowing visitors to book their visa, flights and accommodation through a single integrated process.
Announcing the initiative, the Saudi Ministry of Tourism said the Package Visa is part of the country’s ongoing efforts to make Saudi Arabia a more accessible destination for international tourists.
Saudi Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al Khateeb said the initiative reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to simplifying the travel experience for visitors. By integrating visa issuance with travel bookings, the new system is expected to reduce paperwork, streamline the visitor journey and strengthen collaboration across the tourism ecosystem.
Under the new programme, eligible travellers can make bookings through approved travel and tourism service providers. The package includes round-trip airfare, accommodation at licensed hotels, an electronic tourist visa application and optional tourism experiences, events and activities. The pilot programme has already been launched in select international markets through authorized providers.
The initiative has been jointly developed by the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Interior and the Insurance Authority as part of Saudi Arabia’s broader tourism reforms.
The Package Visa expands Saudi Arabia’s growing range of travel options, which already includes the tourist e-Visa, visa-on-arrival and Stopover Transit Visa. According to the government, these initiatives helped the Kingdom welcome more than 29 million international visitors in 2025.
Apart from offering greater convenience to tourists, the new visa system is also expected to create fresh business opportunities for approved travel companies. Officials believe it will encourage longer visitor stays, improve customer experiences and increase tourism spending. To participate in the programme, travel providers must meet specific eligibility criteria, including digital booking capabilities and round-the-clock customer support.
The launch of the Package Visa forms part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to diversify the economy by boosting tourism, attracting more international visitors and making the Kingdom one of the world’s leading travel destinations.
