Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey release postponed

Shahid Kapoor’s much awaited sports drama “Jersey” was slated to release on December 31. While the movie team is busy with the promotions, the sudden spike in the Omicron cases has now made the film to postpone the release.

The makers of Jersey confirmed the same stating that they pushed the release date owing to the rising Covid and Omicron cases in the country.

The official statement can be read, “In view of the current circumstances and new covid guidelines we have decided to postpone the theatrical release of our film Jersey. We have received immense love from you all so far and want to thank you all for everything. Until then everyone please stay safe and healthy, and wishing you all the best for the new year ahead!! Team Jersey!!”

Directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, the film is produced by Allu Entertainment, Dil Raju Production, Sithara Entertainments and Brat Films. The shooting of Jersey was wrapped up in December 2020.

Notably, certain states have already started to shut down places of public gatherings such as theaters, spas, gyms, etc in view of Omicron variant spread.
