Toxic Release Delay: No Clear Window Amid Packed 2026 Calendar

If everything had gone according to the original plan, June 4 would have belonged to Toxic, not Peddi. Even before that, March 19 was also expected to be Toxic’s window, instead of Dhurandhar 2. That is exactly what is frustrating Yash fans right now — two strong release dates, including a major solo window, have slipped away.
With minimal competition, Toxic could have enjoyed a dream launch and a clear theatrical run. Naturally, the big question now is: what next, and which date truly works for the film?
The recently released making video on director Geetu Mohandas’ birthday did impress audiences with its striking visuals and ambitious scale. However, it carefully avoided answering the one question everyone is asking — the release date. And at the moment, the second half of 2026 looks increasingly congested.
July is already dominated by big Hollywood tentpoles like Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. August is equally packed with major Indian releases including Salman Khan’s Matrubhoomi, Sunny Deol’s Batwara 1947, Ravi Teja’s Irumudi, and Sharwanand’s Bhogi.
September brings more pressure with Vijay Deverakonda’s Ranabaali and the highly anticipated Mirzapur film, while Nani’s The Paradise is still hovering without a confirmed date. November is practically ruled out with Ramayana expected to arrive during that period — and with Yash playing Ravana in the same franchise, a direct clash seems unlikely.
December looks even tighter, with big global and Indian releases like Shah Rukh Khan’s King, Dune 3, and Avengers: Doomsday targeting the holiday window, along with potential Telugu biggies such as Fauzi joining the race.
That realistically leaves October as the most viable option for Toxic. Even then, securing premium screens, especially for the Hindi market, could be a challenge. There are also ongoing whispers that the OTT deal is yet to be finalized, which may be contributing to the delay. The longer the film waits, the more complicated the release landscape appears to become.
