Ram Charan first stepped into Bollywood in 2013 with the remake of the iconic 1973 film Zanjeer. Later, he made a special appearance in the 2023 film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan, featuring in the song “Yentamma”.

Reflecting on his journey in Hindi cinema, the superstar recently shared his perspective on working across industries. He said he does not differentiate between Hindi or Telugu films and prefers to see his work as part of Indian cinema as a whole.

“I don’t know Hindi cinema or Telugu cinema. I’m doing an Indian film. I think let’s keep it that way,” Ram Charan stated during a media interaction. He also expressed his interest in collaborating with filmmakers from across the country, including Mumbai, Bengal, and Tamil Nadu, highlighting his openness to diverse storytelling styles.

In Zanjeer, Ram Charan starred alongside Priyanka Chopra Jonas, playing ACP Vijay Khanna, a determined officer seeking revenge for his parents’ murder. He also made his playback singing debut in the Telugu version titled Thoofan, with the song “Mumbai Ke Hero”, composed by Chirrantan Bhatt.

The original Zanjeer (1973), directed by Prakash Mehra, is considered a landmark film in Indian cinema. Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, Pran, Ajit Khan, Om Prakash, and Bindu, it marked the beginning of the legendary Salim–Javed and Amitabh Bachchan collaboration, later delivering classics like Deewaar and Sholay.

Today, Zanjeer continues to be remembered as a cult classic that shaped the era of action cinema in India.
