Singeetam Srinivasa Rao Plans New Biopic

Cinema passion truly proves that age is just a number, and legendary director Singeetam Srinivasa Rao is the perfect example of it. Even at the age of 94, he continues to inspire the industry with his creative vision and filmmaking spirit. Recently, he amazed audiences by bringing to life his 40-year-long dream project Sing Geetham, a unique dialogue-less musical fantasy film that surprised everyone with its innovative storytelling.

The project was made possible with the support of Kalki 2898 AD director Nag Ashwin, who played a crucial role in producing and presenting the film on the big screen. This unconventional musical, where characters communicate entirely through songs instead of dialogues, received widespread critical appreciation and strong praise for its experimental format.

Following the success of Sing Geetham, Singeetam Srinivasa Rao has now turned his attention to another long-cherished dream project. He has been planning a biopic based on the life of Bengaluru Nagarathnamma, who rose from being a courtesan in her early life to becoming a legendary figure in Carnatic music by overcoming major social barriers of her time. Reports suggest that the script for this ambitious project has already been completed.

Earlier, Singeetam had narrated the story to top actresses like Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Anushka Shetty, but the collaborations did not materialize due to various reasons. Now, with renewed determination, he has once again approached Nag Ashwin to bring this prestigious project to life.

Known for iconic films like Aditya 369, Bhairava Dweepam, and Pushpaka Vimana, Singeetam Srinivasa Rao continues to explore new stories even at this stage of his life. If the Bengaluru Nagarathnamma biopic takes off with Nag Ashwin’s support, it is expected to become another landmark film in Telugu cinema history.
