Before the release of Prabhas’s The Raja Saab, producer SKN emerged as one of the film’s biggest supporters. Although the film was produced by TG Vishwa Prasad, SKN frequently referred to it as “our film” on social media and enthusiastically promoted every update, leading many to believe he was closely associated with the project.
During the promotional campaign, SKN repeatedly expressed confidence that The Raja Saab would showcase Prabhas in a refreshing and colourful avatar, offering a break from the actor’s recent action-oriented films. The film generated considerable buzz ahead of its release, but it ultimately failed to live up to expectations, receiving mixed-to-negative reviews and underperforming at the box office.
The film’s disappointing performance also impacted director Maruthi, who is yet to announce his next project following the release.
Now, ahead of the release of Chennai Love Story, which SKN is co-producing, the producer has clarified his position regarding The Raja Saab. Responding to questions about the film, SKN said its performance should be discussed by the director, producer and lead actor, as they were the people directly responsible for the project.
He explained that his involvement in The Raja Saab was limited and that it would not be appropriate for him to comment on the film’s success or failure.
The clarification comes after SKN faced criticism and trolling from a section of Prabhas fans following the film’s poor theatrical performance. Industry observers have also noticed a change in his public demeanor, with the producer adopting a more measured and restrained approach compared to his earlier outspoken promotional style.
