Rating 2.75/5.0

Film:Something Something
Starring: Siddharth, Hansika Motwani, Ganesh Venkatraman, Brahmanandam and others
Producer: B Subrahmaniam, S Suresh
Director: Sundar C
Music: Satya C

Story

Kumar (Siddharth) an IT professional stays away from females in his office and even requests his bosses not to put him in teams that include females. Kumar avoids females and turns female hater after he had bad experiences with them since his childhood.

However his life takes sudden change after he meets Sanjana (Hansika), a new employee in his organisation. Though he falls for her, he couldn’t express himself due to fear and in the meantime, he faces competition from his charming and handsome colleague George (Ganesh Venkatraman). To win sanjana he in his desperation meets Love Guru Premji (Brahmanandam). What happens next should be enjoyed on screen.

Performance

Siddharth came with a neat performance. He looked like Lover Boy once again with his cute looks and expressions. Hansika is a big disappointment in the film as she looked older to Siddharth. Even in songs she disappointed a lot. Her role did not have scope to perform.

Brahmanandam is excellent and created laughing riot as Love Guru Premji. Minus Brahmanandam, the film has nothing to see. Samantha in her little role thrilled all, while Rana came and supported Brahmi.

Technical

Editing could have been better in the second half. None of the songs is enjoyable. Cinematography is ok. Director could have created some romantic comedy scenes between Hansika and Siddharth.

Analysis

Director Sunder chose a script which is routine. However he tried to treat it differently, giving comedy flavor to it. In the first half, his treatment is ok as Brahmanandam’s comedy made everyone forget the other drawbacks. The moment he went and the director came to the story and tried to bring it down to the logical conclusion, his drawbacks came out into open.

Director failed to create interest in the film with lack of romantic scenes and love elements between Hansika and Siddharth. Simple storyline and predictable climax are the drawbacks. Though the climax seemed ok, nearing towards it like pregnant experiencing pains.

Final Verdict

Except for Brahmanandam, Something Something has ‘Nothing’ new for movie lovers.

The iconic pair, who tied the knot on June 11, 1992, have now successfully completed 34 years of their marital journey. On this special occasion, greetings are pouring in from Annapurna Studios, film celebrities, and fans on social media, celebrating the beloved “King and Queen” of Telugu cinema.

Their love story has once again gone viral, with fans reminiscing about their on-screen chemistry and off-screen bond. Nagarjuna and Amala shared remarkable screen presence in several films, delivering memorable duets and romantic moments that remain evergreen in Telugu cinema history. It is widely believed that Nagarjuna fell in love with Amala first, during their film collaborations.

A small incident on a film set reportedly brought them closer. During a shoot, Amala was said to be upset over discomfort with her costume and skipped the shoot, staying inside her caravan. Observing this, Nagarjuna personally approached her, understood the issue, and assured her that he would speak to the director and resolve it. This thoughtful gesture is said to have deeply impressed Amala and strengthened their bond.

What started as friendship gradually turned into love, and later the couple traveled to the United States together. It was during this trip that Nagarjuna reportedly proposed to Amala in a spontaneous manner. In an earlier interview, Amala recalled the moment, saying she was surprised but happy, and even asked him whether she could continue working after marriage. Nagarjuna assured her complete freedom to pursue her career, which further strengthened her trust in him.

Interestingly, while the proposal took place in a grand manner in the US, their wedding was kept very simple. Nagarjuna and Amala got married on June 11, 1992, in Chennai, in the presence of close family and friends. At the time, both were at the peak of their careers, making their marriage a widely discussed topic in the industry.

Two years later, the couple welcomed their son Akhil Akkineni. Even today, they continue to share a strong bond built on mutual respect and understanding, standing as one of the most admired couples in the industry. Their journey from reel-life co-stars to real-life partners has inspired generations of fans.

As they complete 34 beautiful years of togetherness, fans are celebrating their timeless love, hoping that Nagarjuna and Amala continue to stay happy and inspire many more generations to come.
