Poor Somu Veerraju! He must be ruing making bombastic statements. The other day, he had said that if voted to power, the BJP will make a BC the chief minister of Andhra Pradesh. Not just that, he even claimed that only BJP would make a BC chief minister.
While it made good soundbyte for the media, BJPs alliance partner Jana Sena did not like this statement. The Jana Sena, which feels that Pawan Kalyan is the best bet for chief minister’s post in the state, was upset with this statement and immediately raised the issue with the national leadership of the BJP. There was immediate reaction from the Centre and within hours, Somu Veerraju had to change his statement. He said that he was no one to decide who should be the chief minister.
The chief minister would be decided by the elected MLAs and the party’s national leadership, he clarified. Now, this is called eating a humble pie. Somu Veerraju has learnt a lesson the worst possible way.
