South Superstar’s Father Reveals When His Son Was Rejected By Top Directors!

It is without a doubt that Thalapathy Vijay is one of the biggest superstars of South cinema. His craze in Tamil Nadu is unmatchable and even his average films register record numbers which showcases his stardom. Vijay has been in the industry for more than 25 years and delivered numerous blockbuster throughout his career.

As we know, his father SA Chandrasekhar is a director and producer. He made Vijay act as a child at the age of 10 and Vijay made his debut as lead actor with ‘Naalaiya Theerpu’ which came in 1992. Talking in a recent interview, SA Chandrasekhar revealed details about his son being rejected by top directors like Bharati Raja and Gautham Menon at the beginning of his career.

He said, “When I first came to Chennai with the desire to become a director. I went to Bharathiraja and asked for an opportunity. But he said ‘We can be friends’. After that, I became a director and made movies. Later, I wanted to make a film with Vijay, I asked Bharathiraja. He refused and said ‘you are a good director’.”He said that Gautham Menon too did not show interest in working with Vijay at that time.

He added, “In the early days, no good directors came forward to make a film with Vijay. And that’s for the better. He had become a commercial hero only because he came to my hands. He said this is all god’s plan.”

Coming to Vijay’s next film ‘Leo’, it is being directed by crazy director Lokesh Kanagaraj. Trisha is the heroine in the movie the cast involves noted actors like Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Sarja, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Mansoor Ali Khan, and others. While Anirudh is the composer, this highly anticipated movie is expected to hit the big screens on 19th October.
