After facing a series of setbacks in Telugu cinema, Sreeleela is now shifting her focus towards Bollywood with two back-to-back Hindi projects. One of the key films is Anurag Basu’s untitled venture opposite Kartik Aaryan, where she is aiming to break away from her dancing-star image and establish herself as a strong performer.
Before that release, Sreeleela will also be seen in a quietly developed project titled Diler, backed by Maddock Films. The film has reportedly already been completed and stars Ibrahim Ali Khan in the role of a marathon runner, with direction by Kunal Deshmukh. The shoot took place across London and other international locations.
After the underperformance of Nadaaniyan and Sarzameen, Ibrahim Ali Khan is under pressure to deliver a strong success and establish his footing in the industry. Trade circles are now watching closely to see whether Sreeleela’s growing Bollywood presence can help generate positive buzz for his next outing.
Reports suggest that the makers of Diler are carefully planning the film’s release strategy and may consider timing it around the release of Sreeleela’s film with Kartik Aaryan to maximize visibility and impact.
