Sukumar’s Nephew Bobby to Direct Siddu?

Filmmaker Sukumar has built a reputation not only for delivering blockbuster films but also for mentoring a new generation of directors in Tollywood. Several of his former assistants have gone on to establish themselves as successful filmmakers, with Buchi Babu Sana emerging as one of the most prominent examples. After directing Uppena, Buchi Babu is now helming Ram Charan’s much-anticipated Peddi, further strengthening the “Sukumar school” of filmmaking.

Now, another director from Sukumar’s camp is reportedly set to make his debut. Interestingly, this time it is someone from the filmmaker’s own family. According to industry buzz, Sukumar’s nephew, Bobby, is all set to step behind the camera with his maiden directorial venture.

Bobby has spent the last few years working closely with Sukumar, serving as an assistant and associate director on several projects. Having gained valuable experience under one of Tollywood’s most celebrated directors, he is now said to be ready with his first script.

If reports are to be believed, the debut project will be produced under the Sukumar Writings banner, following the tradition of several directors who launched their careers from Sukumar’s production house. An official announcement regarding the film is expected in the coming days.

The script is reportedly in its final stages, and actor Siddu Jonnalagadda is said to have already heard the narration and given his approval. Despite his packed schedule with multiple ongoing projects, Siddu is believed to have agreed to the film, reportedly impressed by the script and the opportunity to collaborate with a filmmaker from Sukumar’s creative camp.

The association with Sukumar is expected to generate significant buzz for the project even before it goes on floors. Over the years, directors mentored by Sukumar have earned a strong brand value in the industry, raising expectations for every new filmmaker emerging from his camp.

There is also speculation that Sukumar will closely supervise the project during its pre-production and filmmaking stages, ensuring that Bobby receives the necessary creative guidance for a strong debut. While there has been no official confirmation on the extent of his involvement, industry insiders believe Sukumar is keen to support the film in every possible way.

Meanwhile, fans continue to eagerly await Sukumar’s next directorial venture following the phenomenal success of the Pushpa franchise. The filmmaker has already announced his upcoming project with Ram Charan, although it is expected to take some time before production begins. During this period, Sukumar is likely to focus on backing Bobby’s debut as producer while also contributing creatively to the film’s development.
