The debate over the box office collections of Peddi continues to generate discussion, with lyricist Anantha Sriram becoming the latest member of the film’s team to back the movie’s reported earnings.

Speaking at a recent event, Anantha Sriram stated that Peddi had grossed over Rs 420 crore worldwide. His remarks come amid the film’s team consistently highlighting the movie’s commercial success through various promotional platforms.

Earlier, at the Republic Conclave, the film’s worldwide gross was reportedly pegged at Rs 450 crore, further fueling conversations around its box office performance.

Anantha Sriram, who penned songs for Peddi, has emerged as one of the film’s strongest supporters. Previously, he had openly disagreed with director Buchi Babu Sana’s decision to apologize for the criticism surrounding Janhvi Kapoor’s characterization in the film.

Addressing the ongoing box office debate, the lyricist remarked in Telugu that some people had tried to “throw mud” at the film’s “flood of collections,” implying that attempts to discredit the movie had failed to impact its success.

However, the reported figures continue to be questioned within trade and industry circles. While the makers maintain that Peddi has achieved record-breaking numbers, several industry insiders believe the collections being projected are significantly inflated.

With figures ranging from Rs 420 crore to Rs 450 crore being repeatedly cited by the film’s team, the discussion surrounding Peddi’s actual worldwide gross remains a hot topic in Tollywood.
