Telangana POCSO Case: New Age Documents Surface in Bandi Bhageerath Case

The political atmosphere in Telangana has intensified around the case involving Bandi Bhageerath, son of Union Minister Bandi Sanjay, after a POCSO case was registered against him a few days ago. Following the allegations, the Revanth Reddy-led government has initiated a full-scale investigation into the matter.

In the latest development, Bhageerath has approached the Telangana High Court seeking relief and dismissal of the allegations. The case is being represented by senior advocate Niranjan Reddy, one of the most experienced legal professionals in the country.

Shortly after his involvement in the case, reports suggest that significant evidence has surfaced regarding the age of the complainant, who had claimed to be 17 years old at the time of the alleged incident. It is reported that two different birth certificates exist for the individual—one issued by the GHMC stating the date of birth as August 12, 2008, and another issued by the Medical and Health Department listing it as August 12, 2010.

Adding further complexity, it is also reported that the complainant had earlier been involved in a drunk driving incident, during which court records submitted by the parents mentioned her age as 15 in 2021. These records are expected to be reviewed and verified during the upcoming court hearing.

The defence team is reportedly using these inconsistencies as key evidence to challenge the claim that the complainant is a minor, which is central to the POCSO case.

With senior advocate Niranjan Reddy representing the case, legal experts believe the proceedings could take significant turns in the coming hearings, given his extensive experience in high-profile constitutional and criminal matters.
