‘The Wall’ to serve as coach for India’s Tour of Sri Lanka!

Team India is gearing up for the Sri Lanka series that is scheduled to commence in July this year. The Left-hand batsman Sikhar Dhawan is expected to lead the team, as the stalwarts will be busy with England series and Test Championship.

Now it is said that former Indian team captain and serving National Cricket Academy (NCA) head Rahul Dravid will coach the Indian squad for the Sri Lanka tour, an official said.

As per the BCCI official, Rahul Dravid, who is often called ‘The Wall’ will coach the Indian team as head coach Ravi Shastri, Team India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun and batting coach Vikram Rathour will be busy with England series and Test Championship.

It has to be noted that, before becoming NCA head, Rahul Dravid served as U-19 coach. He played a big role in India lifting U-19 cups. Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, and others were trained by Rahul Dravid.

India will lock horns with Sri Lanka for three ODI series and three shorter format games. The team selection is likely to happen at May end. Once the selection is over, the squad will observe a quarantine period in Sri Lanka.

The ODI series will take place in July. The first, second, and third ODI matches will be played on July 13, 16, and 19 respectively. The T20 series will be played from July 22 to 27.
