After the OTT platforms became popular, the concept of remakes is becoming useless. The digital platforms are releasing the same content in multiple languages or providing subtitles which is making it easier for the audience to access movies or web series from different parts of the world. When people are watching movies from every region, the concept of remaking a film from one language to another serves no purpose.

But remakes are not completely vanished yet and a lot of Bollywood makers are remaking content from the South in the past couple of months. One such remake film is ‘Good Luck Jerry’ which will be streaming on Disney + Hotstar from July 29th. The theatrical trailer of this film came out a while ago. As many know, it is the Hindi version of Nayanthara’s super hit film ‘Kolammavu Kokila’ which released in 2018. Sridevi’s daughter and young actress Janhvi Kapoor is playing the lead in the Hindi version.

As we know, the story of this film revolves around a young girl entering the field of drug supply in order to gather money for her mother’s health care. While Nayanthara aced the role thanks to her immense experience, Janhvi tried her best in this full-length character. The entire movie is about her and the youngster did a commendable job despite some flaws in her acting at parts in the trailer. The supporting cast did their bit and trailer creates a positive impression on the film.

Siddharth Sengupta is the director while Pankaj Matta wrote the film. Deepak Dobriyal, Meeta Vashishtha, Neeraj Sood, and Sushant Singh portrayed key roles in this remake. Anand L Rai, Lyca Productions and Sundial films jointly produced this movie. Janhvi is aiming for a good hit from a long time and let us see if it happens or not.

Ram Charan is gearing up to impress audiences once again with his upcoming rural action drama Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas. The film has already generated strong buzz with its chartbuster songs and visually striking glimpses.

Sharing his experience, production designer Avinash Kolla revealed that the story left a deep impact on him. He said he was so moved after hearing the narration that he remained speechless for nearly 20 minutes. According to him, Peddi carries intense emotional depth, which pushed the team to deliver uncompromising quality in every aspect of production design.

Set in the 1970s and 80s, the film recreates the essence of the Vizianagaram region with remarkable detail. Avinash Kolla shared that they meticulously built sets including streets, a clock tower, and surrounding areas to reflect the period authentically. Special attention was given to key sequences like wrestling and cricket episodes.

One of the major highlights is the unique wrestling setup, designed in an underground structure—something rarely seen in Indian cinema. The intense scene featuring Ram Charan in a wrestling pit was shot in this specially constructed set.

Avinash also mentioned that Ram Charan appreciated every set created for the film, from the train sequence to the special song setup and the wrestling arena. Visitors on set were reportedly amazed by how natural and realistic the environments looked.

With its grand scale, emotional storytelling, and authentic period setting, Peddi is all set for a Pan-India release on June 4, with the team preparing to ramp up promotions in the coming days.
