Trump Admits Calling Netanyahu “Crazy” in Heated Lebanon War Call

U.S. President Donald Trump has acknowledged that he once described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as “crazy” during a heated phone call, amid escalating tensions involving Lebanon and ongoing diplomatic efforts with Iran.

In an interview on the “Pod Force One” podcast, Trump confirmed the remarks after being asked about an Axios report that he had used expletive language while speaking to Netanyahu. “I did,” Trump said, adding that he was “a little bit perturbed” over continued fighting linked to Lebanon, but insisted he maintains a good working relationship with the Israeli leader.

According to the Axios report, which cited a U.S. official, Trump allegedly told Netanyahu during a call: “You’re crazy. You’d be in prison if it weren’t for me. I’m saving your ass. Everybody hates you now. Everybody hates Israel because of this.”

Despite the reported tension, Trump emphasized that the exchange did not damage their relationship, stating that he and Netanyahu “get along very well.” He also said he had urged an end to the escalation, saying, “Bibi, we’ve got to stop this.”

The comments come amid continued unrest in the region, with hostilities involving Israel, Lebanon, and Iran-backed groups persisting despite U.S.-mediated diplomatic efforts and recent ceasefire attempts. Lebanese sources reported fresh strikes in southern areas, while Israel said it had intercepted a hostile aerial threat.

Trump also pushed back against suggestions that Netanyahu had manipulated U.S. policy decisions, calling critics “the enemy,” and reiterated his frustration over the ongoing conflict dynamics in the region.
