BJP leader and Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ was rushed to the New Delhi facility of All India Institute Of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Tuesday due to post-covid complications, reports claimed.
Quoting AIIMS officials, the News Agency ANI said that the Union Minister was admitted to the top medical facility following post-Covid complications today.
The Minister visited the AIIMS, over one month after testing positive for the novel Coronavirus. He had come in contact with the deadly virus on April 21 and recovered from the virus later.
Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ was admitted to AIIMS at the time, when he was supposed to take a call on Class 12 Board exams as the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear a petition on the exams on the 3rd of June.
To decide on the exams, the Union Minister sought inputs and suggestions from the States/Union Territories on whether to suspend the exams given the Covid scare. We have to wait and see, what decision will the Centre take on board exams as the Minister was admitted to AIIMS.

Akhanda 2 Edges Out The Raja Saab in TRP Race
May 9, 2026

Akhanda 2 has delivered a strong performance on television, recording higher premiere TRP ratings than The Raja Saab.
The latest television viewership data once again highlights the strong popularity of Nandamuri Balakrishna among Telugu audiences, especially on the small screen.
Both films had generated solid pre-release buzz before their TV premieres due to their theatrical discussions and star power. However, the final TRP reports indicate that Akhanda 2 managed to secure a slight edge over The Raja Saab in their television debut performance.
As per reports, The Raja Saab, telecast on Maa TV, registered around 5.02 TRP in urban markets and approximately 4.40 across combined urban and rural segments. Meanwhile, Akhanda 2, which premiered on Zee Telugu, reportedly recorded about 5.59 TRP in urban markets and 4.54 in combined viewership.
Though the margin is not very large, it still reflects a clear win for Akhanda 2 in the TRP race.
The mass appeal of Nandamuri Balakrishna, along with the film’s action-heavy narrative and devotional elements, appears to have strongly connected with family audiences on television.
While Akhanda 2 performed slightly better on TV, The Raja Saab still maintained strong curiosity levels due to Prabhas and its horror-comedy genre appeal.
At the box office, Akhanda 2 reportedly collected around ₹94.5 crore net, while The Raja Saab closed at approximately ₹146.04 crore net. Despite these numbers, both films are said to have underperformed relative to expectations.
However, the latest TRP results clearly show that Balakrishna’s films continue to enjoy strong television dominance, proving once again that his mass appeal remains intact on the small screen.
