Mahesh Babu’s Nephew Jaya Krishna Gets Emotional at Debut Event

Jaya Krishna Ghattamaneni, the third-generation heir of the prestigious Ghattamaneni family, is all set to make his entry into Telugu cinema. Carrying forward the legacy of legendary actor Krishna and superstar Mahesh Babu, Jaya Krishna, son of late Ramesh Babu, will make his debut as a lead actor with Srinivasa Mangapuram.
The film is directed by Ajay Bhupathi, known for successful films such as RX 100 and Mangalavaaram. Veteran producer C. Ashwini Dutt is presenting the project, while Gemini Kiran is producing it under the Chandamama Kathalu banner. The film also features Rasha Thadani as the female lead and Mohan Babu in a pivotal role.
On the occasion of Krishna’s birth anniversary, the makers organized a special event to introduce the lead characters of the film. Speaking at the event, Jaya Krishna expressed his excitement and gratitude as he prepares to begin his cinematic journey.
“I am here to prove myself, not to take this opportunity for granted,” he said, emphasizing his determination to carve out his own identity in the industry.
Reflecting on his grandfather’s influence, Jaya Krishna became emotional and said, “Meeting all of you on my grandfather’s birthday is very special. My grandfather is like God to me. I cannot express my admiration and love for him in words. I strongly believe his blessings will always be with me.”
Talking about Srinivasa Mangapuram, the debut actor revealed that the story immediately connected with him. “When Ajay Bhupathi narrated the script, I was deeply impressed by the emotions and the depth of my character. I felt this role would challenge me as an actor and give me an opportunity to prove myself. Having a director like Ajay Bhupathi for my first film is truly a blessing,” he said.
Jaya Krishna also thanked Ashwini Dutt for believing in him. He noted that the veteran producer had previously worked with Krishna in Agni Parvatham and later launched Mahesh Babu as a hero with Rajakumarudu. “Now he is introducing me as a hero, which makes this journey even more special,” he said.
Speaking about Mahesh Babu, Jaya Krishna affectionately referred to him as “Babai” and revealed how supportive the superstar has been throughout the process. “I am a die-hard fan of my Babai Mahesh Babu. He constantly gives me feedback and guidance. He also shared valuable suggestions for this film. I am grateful for all his encouragement,” he said.
He further recalled how Mahesh Babu launched the film’s first look and teaser, standing by him at every step of the journey. Concluding his speech on an emotional note, Jaya Krishna remembered his late father Ramesh Babu and dedicated the milestone moment to his family, whose support and inspiration continue to guide him.
