Suriya’s latest action drama Karuppu is enjoying a strong theatrical run and has emerged as one of the actor’s biggest openers in recent times.
Directed by RJ Balaji, the film released in Telugu under the title Veerabhadrudu and is steadily gaining momentum at the box office across Telugu states as well.
The Telugu version, distributed by Annapurna Studios, has shown a significant upward trend in ticket sales. Reports suggest that the film sold nearly one lakh tickets in the last 24 hours alone, indicating strong audience interest and positive word of mouth.
At the Nizam box office, Veerabhadrudu collected around Rs 1.1 crore on its opening day. Impressively, the film almost doubled its earnings on day two by grossing nearly Rs 2.1 crore, showcasing solid growth over the weekend.
Trade circles believe the film’s strong performance is largely driven by positive audience response, particularly for its mass-appeal sequences, emotional moments and engaging commercial storytelling.
Sunday bookings are reportedly very strong, and the film is expected to post even bigger numbers in the coming days.
For Suriya, who had been going through a comparatively lean phase at the box office in recent years, Veerabhadrudu appears to have given him the much-needed comeback boost.
With encouraging occupancy levels and growing family audience support, the film is expected to maintain a steady run during the weekdays as well.
