Veteran actress Neena Gupta has been the poster girl of independent woman over the years. As a single mother, Neena Gupta has raised her daughter Masaba Gupta.
The actress has brought her autobiography titled ‘Sach Kahun Toh’ which was released last year. Bebo Kareena Kapoor Khan did the honours for the memoir.
Her autobiography has touched on a lot of topics in her career, including her first marriage, which lasted for one year.
In the book, Neena Gupta said, she met her first husband Amlan Kumar Ghose, who was an IIT Delhi student then. She used to meet Amlan Kumar Ghose very often as his grandfather lives close to her house.
The reason she gave for tying the knot with Amlan is quite surprising. Neena Gupta married him as she wanted to travel to Srinagar. After her mother said, she can go on a trip only after getting married, she tied the knot.
After their marriage, they moved to Rajender Nagar. However, Amlan wanted his wife to be a homemaker. The duo separated on mutual consent.
However, Neena Gupta said, she doesn’t have any complaints about her first husband.
After divorce with Amlan, Neena Gupta was in a relationship with legendary West Indies player Vivian Richards. Together they have a daughter Masaba Gupta. Neena chose to raise Masaba on her own. She was not married to Richards.
In an old interview, Neena Gupta said, how Masaba is not happy with Vivian Richards not being with her.
