Victory Venkatesh take on reasons for doing remakes

Senior hero Victory Venkatesh is gearing up for the release of his next Narappa, which will be streamed on Amazon Prime Video. The makers and the OTT platform have confirmed the digital release of Narappa.Compared to the other three senior heroes, Megastar Chiranjeevi, Nandamuri Balakrishna, King Nagarjuna, Venkatesh did more remakes in his career and tasted success. Even Narappa is a remake of Hit Tamil film Asuran.

In his recent interview, Venkatesh was asked the same question on opting for remakes. Currently, Tollywood has also changed and the makers are coming with new and interesting concepts.

As a response to the question, Venkatesh said, there is no particular reason behind doing remakes. I might have liked the film. I might have not acted in such films earlier and the remakes provide opportunities to offer a good film to the audiences. It also reduces the financial burden on the producers. A lot of aspects like this make you act in remakes, he said.

Stories that have strong emotions like Narappa have not come in recent times. I have also not acted in such films. The audience will connect to every emotion in Narappa. I haven’t seen a picture like Asuran. We thought of remaking it. Remakes are always compared to the original ones. The same happened to me during films like Chanti and Sundarakanda.

Doing remakes and acting in it is not that easy. We have to make sure to not spoil the original one. In Narappa case, Srikanth Adalla has done a brilliant job, Venkatesh added.

His Drushyam 2 will also be released on Amazon Prime. On the work front, he is shooting for F3, the sequel to F2. Anil Ravipudi and Dil Raju are the director and producer of the sequel respectively.
