Vijay Faces Personal Remarks in Tamil Nadu Assembly Clash

In a heated turn of events in the Tamil Nadu Assembly, political debate took a personal direction as Chief Minister Vijay faced pointed remarks from opposition leader Uday Stalin during the session.

While discussing governance issues, Uday Stalin reportedly made indirect references to the Chief Minister’s ongoing personal legal matter involving divorce proceedings, without naming him directly. The comments, however, were widely interpreted as a clear reference to the case currently being heard in the Chengalpattu court, where proceedings are scheduled for further hearing on August 7.

The remarks sparked strong reactions both inside and outside the Assembly, with critics calling it an unnecessary personal attack that crossed political boundaries. Some viewed it as a “cheap shot,” especially given the past professional respect shared between the two leaders during their film industry days.

At the same time, others argued that such exchanges reflect the hard nature of political discourse in the state, where leaders are often expected to handle personal criticism with resilience and maintain a thick skin in public life.
