The Tamil Nadu government led by Vijay has introduced a significant policy aimed at keeping educational institutions free from political influence. Under the new directive, political party workers and private individuals will no longer be allowed to enter government school classrooms or organize events on school premises.
The move is being widely viewed as an effort to ensure that schools remain focused solely on education, creating an environment where students can learn without political interference.
A similar initiative was earlier implemented in Andhra Pradesh under Education Minister Nara Lokesh. Soon after assuming office, Lokesh directed that political posters, party banners, and promotional material should have no place inside educational institutions. He also emphasized that school textbooks should not feature the names or photographs of political leaders, reinforcing the idea that classrooms should remain politically neutral.
Although they represent different states and political backgrounds, both Vijay and Nara Lokesh have taken comparable steps to safeguard the academic environment in schools. Their decisions reflect a shared belief that educational institutions should prioritize learning, values, and student development over political messaging.
Such measures underline the importance of preserving schools as spaces dedicated to knowledge and personal growth, ensuring that students receive an education free from political influence.
