Nithiin Sci-Fi Film Facing Budget Trouble?

Nithiin once enjoyed a strong market in Tollywood with a series of successful films. However, in recent years, the actor has been struggling to score a solid commercial hit. After the success of Bheeshma, Nithiin has not been able to recreate the same momentum at the box office despite continuously signing new projects.
Particularly, films like Robinhood and Thammudu generated decent expectations among fans but failed to deliver the desired results. Because of this, it appears that Nithiin is now being extra cautious while selecting his upcoming projects.
Currently, the actor has reportedly given the green signal to a film under the banner of Sithara Entertainments
. The project will be directed by Nari Srisavada and T. Somasekhar. At the same time, Nithiin is also said to be impressed with a story narrated by “AAY” fame Anji K. Maniputhra and is considering taking that project forward as well.
Producer Suryadevara Naga Vamsi reportedly wants the Sithara project to be completed and released at the earliest in order to help Nithiin make a strong comeback.
Meanwhile, uncertainty continues around Nithiin’s much-discussed science-fiction project with director V. I. Anand. The film initially created strong buzz because of Anand’s reputation for delivering unique concepts in movies like Ekkadiki Pothavu Chinnavada, Okk Kshanam, and Ooru Peru Bhairavakona.
According to reports, the movie was planned as a science-fiction drama with a brothers’ backdrop, and Nithiin was expected to play a dual role. The idea itself generated excitement among fans, especially since it would mark Nithiin’s return to a double-role performance nearly two decades after Allari Bullodu.
However, the project is now said to be facing major hurdles because of its high budget requirements. Since the film belongs to the science-fiction genre, it reportedly demands significant visual effects and large-scale production expenses. Given Nithiin’s recent box-office setbacks, producers are said to be hesitant about investing heavily in the project.
Industry buzz also suggests that the producers requested several changes in the script, especially in the second half, to reduce the overall budget. However, director V. I. Anand reportedly was not very willing to compromise on his original vision for the film.
As a result, the project has apparently been put on hold for now. At the same time, reports claim that Anand is trying to narrate the same concept to another hero while Nithiin remains busy with his current commitments.
For now, Nithiin’s primary focus appears to be delivering a strong comeback with his Sithara Entertainments film. Fans believe that if the movie succeeds at the box office, his market value could strengthen again, which may eventually revive the ambitious sci-fi project with V. I. Anand in the future.
