KGF star Yash’s much-delayed pan-India biggie Toxic remains one of the most awaited films of 2026. However, the film’s buzz appears to have gradually slowed down due to multiple postponements and ongoing rumours about its final output.
After the film was initially postponed from March 19, the makers have maintained complete silence, with no promotional material released to sustain the hype. This has led to speculation within trade circles and among moviegoers. The situation further worsened after reports emerged that the release date was pushed indefinitely from June 4, adding to audience disappointment.
Recently, fresh rumours circulated on social media claiming that Yash was unhappy with the current output, leading to a massive 100-day reshoot plan and a possible delay pushing the release to 2027. However, the team has firmly denied these reports, calling them baseless and false.
Despite the clarification, such rumours often create a negative perception that is difficult to reverse immediately, potentially impacting the film’s market and anticipation. Many fans also feel there may be some truth behind the speculation, given the repeated delays.
Industry observers believe that negative narratives around big-budget films can affect theatrical performance. To counter this, the team may need to take proactive steps to revive excitement around the project. A teaser, behind-the-scenes glimpse, or an official statement from Yash could help clear confusion, reassure fans, and restore positive momentum.
Directed by Geetu Mohandas, Toxic features an ensemble cast including Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, and Rukmini Vasanth.
