The grand old Telugu Desam Party suffered a humiliating loss in the 2019 general elections. It highlighted how the party is lacking the winning horses who can make a difference in the polls. In many areas, the seniors could not give a fight as TDP was completely washed out.
As far as the upcoming polls are concerned, the party needs winning horses and they should be youth leaders. Having said that, the party tried its luck with the young leaders coming from political parties in the last elections and that did not give any fruitful outcome.
Learning from the mistakes, Chandrababu Naidu might have also understood that the young blood is missing from the party and it’s the need of the hour to focus on this. Former Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has hinted that a process is underway to identify the effective young blood.
It is known that the Telugu Desam Party had started a membership drive. Addressing the party workers and cadre, Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that youth will be given importance while giving tickets for the next elections.
The Party chief said that he respects the seniors in the party given the service they did for the party. Having said that, he maintained that with the respect, he can take chances as the senior leaders are unable to get votes for the party.
Looking at his comments, it appears like Chandrababu Naidu had learned the importance of having young leaders and youth in the party as they are the future. Without the youth cadre, no party can survive and TDP learned it a bit lately.
