Vijay, Trisha Console Ajith After Mother’s Demise

Tamil actor Ajith Kumar returned to Chennai from Dubai on Saturday following the demise of his mother, Mohini Mani, who passed away at the age of 89.
As the actor and his family mourned the loss, several leading personalities from the film industry and political circles visited his residence to offer their condolences. Among those who paid their respects were Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay and actress Trisha Krishnan.
Videos that surfaced on social media showed Vijay arriving at Ajith’s residence amid tight security arrangements. In one of the clips, the Chief Minister was seen warmly greeting and embracing Ajith before spending time with the bereaved family.
Trisha Krishnan also visited the residence and expressed her sympathies to the family during this difficult period.
Mohini Mani passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday morning after a prolonged period of declining health. Announcing the news, Ajith Kumar’s family released an official statement expressing gratitude to the medical professionals who had cared for her over the years.
“Our mother, Mohini Mani, passed away early this morning, in her sleep, after a period of declining health. She was 89. We are grateful for the care and support provided to her and our family by a number of medical professionals these last few years,” the statement read.
The family also requested privacy as they cope with the loss and informed that the last rites would be conducted as a private family ceremony.
“Her last rites will be a private, family affair. We trust that all who have known the ache of losing a parent or a beloved elder will respect our wish to grieve quietly, honouring her memory with the same dignity, strength and grace she embodied throughout her life,” the family said in the note signed by Anup Kumar, Ajith Kumar and Anil Kumar.
