The upcoming Telugu film Ugly Story, slated for release on May 22, is generating solid buzz ahead of its arrival. Starring Nandu and Avika Gor in lead roles, the film has been gaining attention for its unique concept and intriguing promotional comments made by the team.

During the promotions, director Pranav Swaroop revealed an interesting behind-the-scenes detail that has now gone viral on social media. He shared that the team initially wanted to title the film “Gandu,” but the Film Association reportedly did not approve the registration of the name. As a result, the makers eventually finalized the title Ugly Story.

The director further clarified that despite the change in title, the core emotions and storyline of the film remain intact. He added that Ugly Story perfectly reflects the nature of the film, which is said to present a fresh and unconventional love story.

The film is produced under the Riya Jiya Productions banner by Subhashini and Konda Lakshman. The cast also includes Raviteja Mahadasyam, Shivaji Raja, and Pragnya Nayan in key roles. The music is composed by Shravan Bharadwaj, while cinematography is handled by Sri Saikumar Dara.

As part of the promotional campaign, director V. V. Vinayak watched the trailer and appreciated the team for their effort. He described Ugly Story as a fresh love entertainer and wished the film great success at the box office, also expressing hope that it will mark a breakthrough for Nandu.

Actor Nandu thanked Vinayak for his encouragement and said the entire team has put in immense effort into the project, hoping audiences will support the film when it releases in theatres.
