Allu Aravind, Dil Raju Missing from Key Tollywood Press Meets Sparks Debate

Recent developments in Tollywood have sparked widespread discussion after two high-profile press meets—first by the Exhibitors’ association and later by the Producers’ Guild—brought long-standing industry tensions into the public spotlight.

While the Film Chamber, Producers Council, and other governing bodies are traditionally expected to resolve such disputes internally, the decision to address the issues through public press conferences has raised several questions within the industry.

One of the key talking points has been the noticeable absence of some of the industry’s most influential figures. Leading producer Allu Aravind, who also has strong interests in theatres, distribution, and post-production, was not present at the Active Producers Guild press meet. Similarly, prominent producer Suresh Babu also stayed away from the event, which surprised many observers.

Another major name, Ashwini Dutt, whose production house is associated with big projects like Kalki 2898 AD Part 2, was also absent from the meeting. However, his production banner later expressed indirect support through a social media post.

On the exhibitors’ side, veteran producer and distributor Dil Raju did not attend the exhibitors’ press meet either. Instead, his brother represented him at the event. Given Dil Raju’s strong background in distribution and exhibition—having earned the reputation of “Nizam King” in the Telugu market—his absence has also become a point of discussion.

Industry insiders suggest that these absences may not indicate disengagement, but rather behind-the-scenes negotiations aimed at resolving the ongoing exhibitor-distributor issues more strategically. Reports indicate that key stakeholders are continuing discussions privately in an effort to find a mutually acceptable solution and restore normalcy to the industry.
