Saptagiri Reveals Crazy Audition Behind Vishika’s Selection In Purushah

The upcoming comedy entertainer Purushah is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on May 22. Centered around the fun-filled clashes between husband and wife, the film promises an out-and-out family comedy experience. Marking the debut of Pawan Kalyan Battula as a lead actor, the movie has already grabbed attention with its humorous promotional content.
During a recent interview as part of the film’s promotions, actor Saptagiri shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes story about how heroine Vishika was selected for the film. According to him, the makers did not choose her based only on glamour or screen presence, but through a very unusual audition test.
Produced by Battula Koteswara Rao under the Kalyan Productions banner and presented by Battula Saraswathi, the film is directed by Veeru Ulavala. Along with Saptagiri, the movie also features popular comedians like Vennela Kishore and Kasireddy, raising expectations for a complete laughter ride in theatres.
Recalling the audition incident, Saptagiri revealed that when Vishika came to the office for auditions, the director came up with a strange test. He reportedly drew a line high up on the office wall using a chalk piece and asked her to lift her leg up to that point.
“At first, she had no idea why he was asking that,” Saptagiri said jokingly. “The director even told her that she would be selected only if she could raise her leg up to that line.”
The reason behind the test, however, was linked to an important action-comedy sequence in the film. Vishika had to perform a scene where she kicks comedian Kasireddy during a hilarious action moment. Since the role demanded flexibility and some martial arts-style movements, the director wanted to see whether she could pull it off convincingly.
Though initially confused, Vishika tried her best and managed to lift her leg only halfway before finally admitting, “That’s all I can do, sir.”
According to Saptagiri, the director was impressed with her effort and immediately responded in a funny way, saying, “No problem, I’ll manage the remaining half with graphics and camera tricks. You’re selected!”
Saptagiri explained that the team wanted someone who could handle not just glamour, but also the physical comedy and action elements required for the role. While actors are usually selected through look tests and performance auditions, this unique “kick test” has now become a funny talking point among movie lovers.
After hearing this entertaining inside story, audiences are now even more curious to see how Vishika’s action-comedy scenes turned out on screen when Purushah hits theatres on May 22.
