Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is set to inaugurate the newly named “Donald Trump Avenue” near the US Consulate in Hyderabad on June 23, in a notable diplomatic and symbolic event. Sergio Gor is expected to attend the ceremony, adding international significance to the occasion ahead of US Independence Day on July 4.
The decision to name the street after former US President Donald Trump was first proposed by Revanth Reddy in December, as part of Telangana’s broader initiative to recognise global leaders and companies that have contributed to Hyderabad’s growth as a major IT and innovation hub.
The state government has also been promoting similar initiatives, including naming roads after global tech giants such as Google and Microsoft, to strengthen Telangana’s positioning as a global investment destination. Officials say the move aligns with the vision presented at the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) and the upcoming Telangana Rising Global Summit 2025.
Hyderabad continues to attract significant foreign investment, particularly in the Global Capability Centre (GCC) ecosystem. Major companies such as Costco Wholesale, Eli Lilly, HCA Healthcare, McDonald’s, Nationwide, Vanguard, US Bancorp, T-Mobile, LPL Financial, and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals have either established or announced GCCs in the city in recent years, further strengthening Hyderabad’s reputation as a preferred hub for BFSI and technology operations in India.
