Several netizens criticized his attire, saying he should have dressed more appropriately for a religious visit. “The least you could do is dress properly for a mandir,” one user commented, while another wrote, “Why come just for show and not dress decently?”
Amid the backlash, Varun’s father and filmmaker David Dhawan came to his defense. He described his son as innocent and sincere, adding that Varun always follows what his heart tells him to do.
