Jagapathi Babu, who once ruled Telugu cinema as a family hero, successfully reinvented himself in his second innings as a powerful antagonist, delivering strong performances that made a mark at the box office. However, the actor now feels that repetitive roles—especially rich father characters and high-profile corporate villain roles—have started to feel monotonous.

Known for his impactful comeback with films like Legend, Jagapathi Babu went on to impress audiences in movies such as Nannaku Prematho, Aravinda Sametha Veera Raghava, and Akhanda. While these roles brought him widespread recognition, he has openly expressed a sense of creative dissatisfaction due to the lack of variety.

His role as a wealthy father in Srimanthudu earned him strong appreciation, but since then, he has often been offered similar “rich, suit-clad, corporate father” characters. The actor himself admitted that the repeated image has become boring and that he now wants to explore more grounded, relatable, and diverse roles on screen.

There is a common perception in the industry that Jagapathi Babu demands a high remuneration and may not be suitable for small-budget films. However, he has clarified that if a role is strong and creatively satisfying, he is even willing to reduce his fee. This statement has come as a major encouragement for young filmmakers and content-driven cinema.

He recently revealed that he missed out on a project titled Little Hearts and even promised to produce a film for the director as compensation, highlighting his passion for cinema beyond acting. His focus has now clearly shifted from star image to meaningful storytelling.

Jagapathi Babu’s recent work in Godari Gattupaina as a father character has also received positive response, further proving his continued versatility. His decision to prioritize content-driven and experimental roles over commercial repetition is being widely appreciated in the industry.

By moving away from predictable roles and embracing challenging characters, Jagapathi Babu is setting an example in Telugu cinema—showing that artistic satisfaction can be more valuable than routine commercial success.
