Ajith Kumar’s next film has become one of the most talked-about topics in Tamil cinema, with the buzz surprisingly centered not on the story or director, but on his remuneration. Over the past few months, several reports in Tamil media have suggested that salary negotiations are causing delays in the official announcement of his upcoming project.
According to industry speculation, Ajith is said to have agreed to reduce his fee to around ₹150 crore, which is reportedly lower than what he received for Good Bad Ugly. However, even at this revised figure, producers appear hesitant to commit, given the current market conditions.
Unconfirmed reports claim that discussions with a leading production banner did not move forward, as the studio was willing to offer around ₹90 crore. Another potential producer is said to have quoted approximately ₹110 crore. While these figures remain unofficial, they have fueled widespread discussion in trade circles.
The delay in finalizing AK64 has only added more fuel to the speculation. Earlier reports had also hinted at disagreements over remuneration, with numbers ranging between ₹170 crore and ₹200 crore being circulated.
At present, two projects are reportedly under consideration—one with Adhik Ravichandran and another with Siruthai Siva. Both are expected to be large-scale commercial entertainers, but neither has officially gone on floors yet.
For now, fans are eagerly waiting for clarity on Ajith Kumar’s next move. Whether the remuneration reports are accurate or just industry rumors, the continued delay in announcement has only intensified curiosity around AK64.
