“Raaka” is undoubtedly one of the most eagerly awaited films in Allu Arjun’s lineup. The first-look poster, unveiled on April 8 on the actor’s birthday, significantly heightened expectations among fans. Allu Arjun’s striking makeover quickly became a major talking point and generated tremendous buzz on social media.
Given the film’s massive scale and the extensive visual effects work involved, it was already evident that the project would not make it to theaters this year. However, the latest buzz surrounding its release schedule has surprised fans.
According to industry reports, Sun Pictures has informally shared its tentative plans with distributors, and “Raaka” is currently expected to hit theaters on December 2, 2027. If the date holds, fans will have to wait another 18 months to witness the ambitious sci-fi spectacle on the big screen.
Interestingly, December has proved to be a lucky season for Allu Arjun. Both installments of the “Pushpa” franchise were released during the December holiday period and went on to become massive blockbusters. “Pushpa 2” arrived on December 5, 2024, and now “Raaka” is also said to be targeting the first week of December, three years later.
Directed by Atlee and produced by Sun Pictures, the film is being mounted on a grand scale. Deepika Padukone has already been officially confirmed as the female lead, while industry buzz suggests that Janhvi Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, and Rashmika Mandanna could also be part of the ensemble cast.
However, neither the release date nor the additional casting details have been officially announced by the makers. Until then, these developments remain part of the ongoing industry speculation surrounding one of Indian cinema’s most anticipated projects.
