MS Raju Recalls Trisha’s Funny Reaction Over Aata Casting Decision

Veteran producer and director M. S. Raju, known for delivering several blockbuster films in Tollywood, is currently busy with multiple projects as a filmmaker. His latest directorial venture Agadha is gearing up for release soon, and during the film’s promotional interviews, he has been sharing several memorable moments from his long cinematic journey.

In one such interaction, M. S. Raju fondly recalled an interesting and humorous incident involving former star heroine Trisha Krishnan.

The producer spoke about the time after the massive success of Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana, which starred Siddharth and Trisha under his banner. Later, when M. S. Raju announced another film titled Aata with Siddharth, Trisha reportedly became upset after learning that she was not selected as the female lead.

According to Raju, Trisha repeatedly called him and even insisted that she would personally come to the shooting location. However, by then, Ileana D’Cruz had already been finalized for the role, and the shooting had commenced.

He revealed that the team was filming on a boat in the middle of the Godavari River near Rajahmundry, making it impossible to halt the shoot midway. After he explained the situation, Trisha eventually dropped her plans to visit the location.

Recalling the lighter side of the incident, M. S. Raju shared that he later called Trisha to ensure she was not hurt by the decision. During the conversation, he told her that he never felt as comfortable shooting with anyone else as he did with her. In response, Trisha jokingly teased him saying that he deserved to feel troubled for not casting her.

Raju added that he has always treated actors and technicians like family members on set, which is why many of them continue to share a close bond with him even today.

Meanwhile, M. S. Raju is now attempting a completely different genre with Agadha. Unlike his previous directorial ventures such as Dirty Hari and Malli Pelli, which catered to a limited section of audiences, Agadha is being designed on a much larger scale with pan-India appeal.

The film is said to be a mystical divine thriller starring Kamakshi Bhaskarla in the lead role. With extensive VFX work, suspense-driven storytelling, and nearly 45 minutes of graphics-heavy sequences, the project has already created considerable buzz within industry circles and on social media.

As audiences increasingly show interest in content-driven supernatural and mythological thrillers, expectations around Agadha are steadily growing. If backed by strong promotions and timely release planning, the film could emerge as an important project in M. S. Raju’s directorial career and help him establish a distinctive identity once again as a filmmaker.
