With Venkatesh’s upcoming film directed by Anil Ravipudi recently launched and Megastar Chiranjeevi’s #Mega158 already in production, reports suggest that both films are being planned for a grand Sankranthi 2027 release.
Interestingly, even before this anticipated box office clash, the two veteran stars are expected to make their presence felt at the ticket counters much earlier.
One of the key projects in focus is Vishwambhara, directed by Vassishta of Bimbisara fame. The film’s shooting was completed even before the launch of Chiranjeevi’s Anil Ravipudi project. Despite this, the film has remained unreleased, even after Chiranjeevi’s recent blockbuster success, which reportedly grossed over ₹300 crore.
Industry buzz suggests that Vishwambhara is now being aimed for a Dasara release, with an official announcement expected soon.
On the other hand, Venkatesh’s film with Anil Ravipudi is currently targeting a January 12 release for Sankranthi 2027. However, before that, his other project Adarsha Kutumbam, directed by Trivikram Srinivas, is expected to hit theatres on October 2. The film was initially planned for a summer release but was delayed due to script revisions.
With these developments, it appears that audiences may witness an early box office face-off between Chiranjeevi and Venkatesh during the Dasara season itself, well ahead of their anticipated Sankranthi clash. The coming months are expected to be packed with major announcements and festive season releases from both stars.
