Samsung is just about a month away from unveiling its next-generation foldable lineup, expected at the July Galaxy Unpacked event. The upcoming range is likely to include the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 8, and a new wide-folding variant that may debut as the Galaxy Z Fold 8. Reports suggest Samsung is preparing significant upgrades in design, performance, and AI-powered features for this year’s foldables.
Tipster Ice Universe recently shared what is claimed to be a real-life image of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 (Wide model) on X. The device was reportedly spotted in use by a Samsung employee at a restaurant, offering an early look at the company’s new wide-folding design.
The device in the image appears to be heavily concealed with a camouflage skin or protective anti-leak case, limiting visible details. However, the rear camera layout can still be seen, showing a dual-camera setup arranged inside a pill-shaped module, along with an LED flash placed just below it. Interestingly, earlier reports suggest the standard Fold 8 Ultra variant may continue with a triple-camera configuration.
The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide model is rumored to feature a 5.4-inch cover display and a 7.6-inch inner Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X foldable display. Under the hood, it is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset, promising improved performance and enhanced AI capabilities.
Camera-wise, the device could feature a dual rear setup comprising a 200MP primary sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies, it may include a 10MP cover camera and a 10MP inner display camera.
The foldable is also expected to pack a 4,900mAh battery, aiming to balance performance and endurance for heavy daily use.
Overall, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series appears to be shaping up as one of Samsung’s most ambitious foldable upgrades yet, especially with the introduction of a wider folding form factor.
