During the interaction, Jagan Mohan Reddy reiterated his long-standing stance on Amaravati and used the platform to highlight his “MAVIGUN” concept, stating that he would return the lands to farmers if his party comes back to power. He also indicated that he is open to changing the capital model if elected in 2029.
However, the meeting has triggered political controversy, with critics alleging that it was selectively organized to project dissatisfaction among Amaravati farmers. Critics argue that the continued opposition to Amaravati may alienate voters from Krishna and Guntur districts, where support for the capital city project remains strong. The meeting has therefore intensified political debate, with opposition leaders questioning the timing and purpose of such engagements.
