Ketan Murder: New Blackmail Angle Emerges

The investigation into the murder of Ketan Agarwal has taken a new turn, with police now probing whether his fiancée, Siya Goyal, was manipulated or blackmailed by her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, into participating in the crime.

According to sources, investigators are examining whether Chetan used recorded phone conversations and private messages to pressure Siya. Police suspect he may have threatened to expose their relationship to the influential Agarwal family if she refused to cooperate with the alleged murder plot.

Investigators are also analysing digital evidence to determine whether Chetan kept Siya involved in the conspiracy by threatening to reveal her alleged role in an earlier failed murder attempt in May.

Another angle under investigation is Chetan’s possible motive. Police are probing whether he initially planned to elope with Siya but later shifted to eliminating Ketan, allegedly believing it would eventually provide access to the Agarwal family’s wealth and social standing.

Financial transactions are also under the scanner. Investigators are auditing Siya’s bank accounts to determine whether she transferred money to Chetan to fund his travel, clothing, or other logistics linked to the alleged murder attempts.

Police are further investigating whether Chetan demanded money from Siya by threatening to expose the failed May attempt and whether Siya had allegedly promised him regular financial support or a lump-sum payment after Ketan was out of the picture.

Forensic teams are also examining cash withdrawals made by Siya in the days leading up to the June 18 incident to determine whether the funds were used to cover expenses allegedly incurred by Chetan while tracking the couple.

Siya and Ketan had announced their engagement in February, and their wedding was scheduled for November. Their families had reportedly booked a palace in Jaipur for nearly Rs 17 crore and arranged two private aircraft to transport guests for the celebrations.

According to police, the relationship took a tragic turn after Siya and Chetan allegedly pushed Ketan into a gorge at Lohagad Fort.

Investigators claim this was not the first attempt. On June 14, Siya allegedly pushed Ketan at the same location, but he survived after grabbing onto a bush. Police allege she then diverted attention by shouting about a snake before hugging him, helping avoid suspicion.

A few days later, investigators say Siya convinced Ketan to revisit the fort and allegedly called Chetan to join them. Police claim the duo then pushed Ketan from behind into the gorge, resulting in his death.

Case records also suggest the accused had prepared a “Plan C” in case the second attempt failed.

Initially, Ketan’s death was treated as an accidental fall while taking photographs amid strong winds. However, investigators reportedly grew suspicious after observing Siya’s behaviour following the incident, which eventually led to a deeper probe.

Police later arrested Siya and Chetan, who are reported to have confessed during the investigation. During a face-to-face interrogation on Thursday, the two allegedly blamed each other for masterminding the murder, adding another layer of complexity to the high-profile case.

The investigation is ongoing, and police are continuing to examine both the financial and digital evidence to establish the exact sequence of events and individual roles in the alleged conspiracy.
