Jr N. T. Rama Rao Jr and director Prashanth Neel’s upcoming project, tentatively titled Dragon, has already created buzz after a glimpse from the film surfaced on social media.
The makers recently introduced the film’s world along with key characters, and one role that instantly grabbed attention was “Boby Sarkar,” which is reportedly being played by Bollywood actor Sidhant Gupta.
According to industry buzz, Sidhant Gupta may have replaced Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas, who was earlier considered for the role. Reports suggest that the characters of NTR and Boby Sarkar share a sibling relationship in the film, making the role crucial to the storyline.
It is said that Tovino Thomas was initially finalised but had to opt out due to scheduling conflicts. Given his popularity in South cinema, his inclusion would have further strengthened the film’s pan-India appeal.
However, the final casting choice of bringing in Sidhant Gupta has surprised many, as director Prashanth Neel is generally known for casting strong South Indian actors in key roles.
At the same time, there is still no official confirmation on whether Sidhant has replaced Tovino or if the role is entirely different. Sidhant Gupta has been gaining recognition through projects like Jubilee, Inside Edge, and Black Warrant, showcasing his versatility across platforms.
With several Hindi actors successfully making their mark in South cinema, it remains to be seen whether Sidhant Gupta will also emerge as a strong pan-India presence with this high-profile project.
